Key Lime Greek Yogurt Cheesecakes, a healthier dessert recipe with only 125 calories per cheesecake!

These mini Greek yogurt cheesecakes have a tropical key lime twist!  Only 125 calories each, and full of protein to help keep you satisfied!

Does this sound familiar to you?  You try to eat healthfully throughout the day.  Breakfast, lunch and even dinner you do OK.

But sit down on the couch to watch some TV in the evening and suddenly you just need something sweet.

And the next thing you know, you are scavenging through the pantry, trying to find that old bag of chocolate chips you swear was in the very back.

That is the inspiration behind this recipe 🙂

Key Lime Greek Yogurt Cheesecakes, a healthier dessert recipe with only 125 calories per cheesecake!

Well actually, the inspiration behind these key lime Greek yogurt cheesecakes is a box of popsicles that I bought to stop myself from burrowing into my pantry at night.  They were key lime flavor, creamy and delicious…and only 100 calories a pop!

So I started wondering if I could make my own creamy, healthy dessert recipe.  With key lime of course.  And cheesecake popped into my head immediately.

Can you healthify cheesecake?  Why yes.  Apparently you can.  Because little babies are not too bad for you!  Only 125 calories each!

Key Lime Greek Yogurt Cheesecakes, a healthier dessert recipe with only 125 calories per cheesecake!

My normal cheesecake recipe calls for a whole 8 oz of cream cheese, and for these Greek yogurt cheesecakes, I reduced that to 4 oz, and added a whole cup of Greek yogurt.  You can barely taste a difference!

There is a slight tanginess from the yogurt, but all in all these are a delicious, healthier option when you want your cheesecake fix but don’t want to break your diet.

AND: because they contain Greek yogurt, you get some protein in your dessert, which helps to keep you feeling full and satisfied.  I can’t stand it when I still want to eat 15 more of a healthier dessert 🙂

Happy Tuesday to you all.  Have a wonderful day!
