This fresh fruit yogurt parfait is the high-protein snack of your dreams - Super delicious, extremely versatile, and wonderfully easy to prepare!
I struggle to call this easy parfait snack idea a recipe because it's so simple and easy! An easy 20 minutes in the kitchen can provide you six tasty treats to enjoy throughout the week, each with tons of protein and amazing flavor. It works on all kinds of fruit, too, so you can make it ideal for your own tastebuds!
Ingredient Tips
- Fruit: Strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, mango, pineapple, etc... You pick the fruit, cube or slice it, and discard all cores or stems. I created two versions: strawberry and mango.
- Water: This helps draw out the juice as the fruit cooks.
- Lemon juice: Brightens the flavor of any fruit. You could use lime juice instead if you prefer that flavor combination. Store-bought or freshly squeezed will do.
- Sweetener: This can be sugar or an alternative sweetener. I used granular sugar. The recipe provides a base level to start, but I encourage you to taste as the sauce is cooking and judging for yourself if you need any more. Different fruits, seasons, and crops can vary in natural sweetness.
- Yogurt: This is layered with the fruit sauce. I used Oikos Pro Plain Yogurt, but feel free to use your preferred version.
How to make easy fruit yogurt parfaits
- Start your sauce by bringing fruit, water, and lemon juice to a boil in a small saucepan. Once it is boiling, reduce the heat and allow to simmer on low for 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally, mashing with your spatula to help the fruit break down.
- When the liquid has reduced and the sauce has a texture you like, remove the pan from the heat and set aside.
- Once the sauce has cooled completely, use an immersion blender to blend until smooth if desired.
- Assemble the fruit parfaits by layering the yogurt and fruit sauce into six individual jars like these. Each jar had ¾ cup of Oikos Pro Plain Yogurt and about ¼ cup of fruit sauce for a 200-calorie treat with 25 grams of protein.
High Protein Add-Ins
Depending on the type of yogurt you use, this may already be considered a high-protein snack! However, sometimes you just want to add a little extra. Here are my favorite high-protein ingredients to add to yogurt parfaits.
- Nuts - Enjoy raw or roasted, unflavored or flavored.
- Raw seeds, hemp hearts - Adds loads of fiber, too.
- Protein Powder - This could be mixed with the yogurt ahead of time. Any flavor or type would work.
- Granola - Store-bought or homemade is great.
- Chia Pudding - Add a chocolate layer with this recipe!
- Chickpea Cookie Dough Balls - There's 4 grams of protein in every 2 tablespoons, so feel free to mix them in!
- Quinoa - This adds a very hearty layer to your parfaits for a full breakfast bowl.
Storage
These yogurt parfaits last up to 4 days in the refrigerator in these cute little jars! I wouldn't recommend freezing these for later as the yogurt may become watery, depending on the type you use.

Fruit Yogurt Parfaits
Ingredients
- 4.5 cups Greek Yogurt I used Oikos Pro Greek Yogurt in nutrition calculation
For the fruit sauce
- 3 cups fresh fruit
- 1 tbsp water
- ½ tsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp sweetener see notes
Instructions
Make the fruit sauce
- To make the fresh fruit sauce add the fruit, water and lemon juice in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and allow the sauce to summer on low for 10-15 minutes.
- Stir the sauce occasionally and use your spatula to help mash the fruit as it cooks.
- Once the liquid has reduced and the sauce has thickened to your liking remove from heat and set aside.
- Once the sauce has cooled completely use an immersion blender to blend until smooth, if desired.
Assemble the parfaits
- In each jar, layer ¾ cups of the yogurt and about ¼ cup of the fruit sauce. If preferred, top with nuts or granola.
Tips:
- Sweetener: You can use any granular sweetener like sugar, monk fruit, Swerve, etc. Because some fruit may be more or less sweet, start with the two tablespoons. As it cooks, taste occasionally and add a bit more if needed.
- You can use any fruit in this sauce recipe, but different fruits do cook down to different amounts. 3 cups of fruit will result in about 1.5 cups of fruit sauce, leaving ¼ cup for each jar.
- Nutrition values calculated using strawberries in the fruit sauce and Oikos Pro Plain Yogurt in the parfait.
