Kai's Cheerful Cozy Nursery

The big reveal of Kai's fun mint and yellow nursery!

I am so happy to be finally posting pictures of Kai's nursery!

True, he joined us way back in October, but his nursery was largely unused until after Christmas (he slept in a bassinet beside our bed).

A lot of finishing touches went unfinished for quite awhile...but finally the pictures are hung.

One thing that is really bothering me is the ABC print above the rocking chair: it needs a bigger frame. But once that is done, I think this room might be 'complete'...for now!

I am so pleased with this room...it brings a smile to my face every time I enter it. OK, well maybe not at 2am.

I am especially happy with this room considering that the crib and the rocking chair were handed down to us, yet I think they work really well with the wood trim in the room.

The major purchases that we had to make for this room were the dresser and the 'cube' (for lack of a better description), both from Ikea, the rug, from Target, and the fabric for the curtains, from Etsy. BIG thank-you to my mom for sewing the curtains!

The artwork is all from Etsy, as is the change pad cover. I had so much fun looking for art on Etsy!

I really think mint walls can also work beautifully for a girl's nursery, but by bringing in the navy from the curtains, the rug and the rocking chair, I think it brings a more masculine feeling. And I really love the brightness the yellow brings. Mint + yellow...I just love. Errr...well...yellow, I just love. You'll see 🙂
