These salted caramel Twix brownies are the perfect salty/sweet treat. Twix bars are mixed into chewy chocolate brownies and drizzled with salted caramel.
I know I've said this before...but there is a time for restraint in the kitchen, when simplicity is the best. And then there are days where I throw that nonsense out the window and go for more is more!
And I had a bad day this week. Not like a the sky is falling kind of day, but one of those days where a hundred small things go wrong and it all amounts to general feelings of heavy-hearted, feet-dragging blah.
My saving grace that day was these salted caramel Twix brownies. I had a chocolatey, Twix-stuffed, caramel-swirled, chewy brownie to look forward to. Thank goodness! It was definitely a day that called for an over the top, super-indulgent brownie.
Reasons you'll โก these salted caramel Twix brownies
- they are salty, sweet, chewy and delicious
- they are a great way to use up any Twix bars from Halloween (or any other chocolate bars)
- they are easy to make and kid-friendly
I've always made my brownies with cocoa powder...the thought of melting chocolate sounded like too much effort for me. And I've read lots of reviews of cocoa brownies that claim they are just as good as real chocolate brownies. Some people claimed they couldn't even tell the difference.

Utter nonsense!!!
For these salted caramel Twix brownies, I subbed out my usual cocoa powder for 6 oz of semi-sweet chocolate....just to see. And guess what? I will never be going back to cocoa brownies. No way, no how, not after tasting these beauties.
The difference for me was the texture...these guys were just so incredibly chewy and fudgy. And I love their shiny, crinkly brownie tops. My favorite part ๐
But like we all know, I can't just have my chewy chocolatey brownies, they also had to be filled with chopped up Twix bars {keep this recipe in mind for Halloween!}. The bars held their crunch in the brownies, so you get bites of crunchy shortbread and chewy caramel.
I also swirled some caramel syrup into the brownie tops, and sprinkled them with sea salt. Yum yum yum! Adding more caramel to baking is never, ever a bad decision in my book ๐
These salted caramel Twix brownies are super easy to make, and a totally decadent twist on a brownie. Totally the kind of brownie that can turn a bad day around!

Twix is one of my all time favorite candies, and so are brownies. This is the best of both worlds -- heavenly!

Leah | So, How's It Taste? says
Oh yeah! Twix is one of my favorite candy bars so I am all over these brownies! They look awesome!
Tash says
These are really beautiful! We must be on a wavelength because I made some really similar brownies the other day! (they're on my instagram but not blog yet...procrastination sucks) I used caramel carnation inside though with some butter - when I baked it though, it just turned super thick and there was no visible caramel to speak of! Gah! So I made an immense, syrupy *real* caramel sauce for drizzling. Totally understand the deliciousness going on right here. Your photos are incredible as always!
Denise says
Great minds think alike, right, Tash? I swirled a little bit of the caramel in the brownies, but it just kind of absorbs into the batter, so I just had to add extra on top...I can't say no to more caramel ๐
Denise says
Ha ha, thanks, Gigi!
Denise says
Ha, thanks, Jessica!

These pretty much include everything I love! Those Twix bars are genius! I know what you mean about the difference between using cocoa and chocolate...it's huge! Chocolate gives you so much more fudgy, rich flavor. Hope you're having a much better week this week! ๐
katie says
These brownies look great Denise! I love that you threw in some twix, what a great idea; I could eat them all. I'll have to try using chocolate over the cocoa powder, it makes sense that it would taste better that way!
Denise says
Oh, it makes such a huge difference! So chewy and fudgy! And not too much more effort.
Denise says
Aw, gluten intolerance, that's no good! Someone needs to create a gluten-free Twix bar! Thanks, Cailee!
Ceara @ Ceara's Kitchen says

Denise says
Thanks, Jess! You can't go wrong with any sort of baking that involves Twix, right?
Karen - 2Teaspoons says
These brownies looks so decadent Denise! I totally agree, that nothing quite hits the spot on those heavy-hearted, foot-dragging days like a fudge brownie! I bet the salted caramel swirl was fantastic too ๐
Denise says
Yes, I am convinced there is no problem that can't be solved by chocolate ๐ Thanks, Karen!

Oh me, oh my Denise. These brownies. I can't. They sound delicious! Do you know that twix is my favorite candy bar? I feel like you made these just for me. Yum!
Denise says
Twix is my favorite, too! I love the shortbread, and caramel, and the fact that you get TWO! Thanks, Natalie!
Helen @ Scrummy Lane says
I have a feeling you've hit on a real winner here. It's such a great idea to add Twix bars to your brownies ... and the extra caramel makes them look beyond delicious in your photos.
If these can't cheer you up on a bad day then I'm not sure what would. Definitely going to pin these for my next 'blah' day!
Denise says
I am lucky that I haven't had too many problems in life that a brownie couldn't fix ๐ Thanks, Helen!
Geraldine | Green Valley Kitchen says
Oh my - these look incredible. I definitely like a non-cake like brownie and these look perfect. For Halloween, I always buy more candy than I'm able to give out so I'm planning on making these with any left over twix.
Denise says
I agree with you on the non-cake brownie, Geraldine, and also about buying too much Halloween candy! My first year in this house I bought over 100 candies and was so sad to only have 12 trick-or-treaters. But also happy to get to eat the left-overs ๐
Dannii @ Hungry Healthy Happy says
Omg! These look delicious! Definitely one for treat day ๐
Denise says
Thanks, Dannii ๐
