Cranberry Ginger Fizz

A wintery cocktail combining cranberry juice, ginger, lime and vodka. Can also be served as a cranberry ginger martini.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz vodka {1 shot}
  • 8 oz cranberry juice {1 shot}
  • 4 oz Ginger Simple Syrup {Recipe follows}
  • 4 teaspoon lime juice
  • club soda (to taste)
  • cranberries {for garnish}

Ginger Simple Syrup {enough for 4 cocktails}:

  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 4 inch ginger {peeled and sliced into ¼ inch rounds}
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger

Instructions

For the ginger simple syrup

  • In a small pot, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Reduce heat, simmering gently for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
  • Can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

To make cranberry ginger fizz cocktail

  • In a shaker filled with ice, combine the vodka, cranberry juice, lime juice and ginger simple syrup. Shake until well combined and chilled. Pour into a glass.
  • Top with club soda and garnish with cranberries.

Notes

This cocktail can be served as a martini (without the club soda).
This cocktail is also great, possibly even better, when you sub the cranberry juice with pomegranate juice!! YUM!
